Download the 2009 Packet for your Troop or Webelos Den! Register now! The Klondike Derby is the Gateway District's annual winter camping event. Scout Troops camp out and participate in events based on an annual theme from Friday through Sunday. The events have been designed to test Scouting skills, both mentally and physically. All the events will be timed unless otherwise noted. Scout Troops are encouraged to invite Webelos to the Klondike Derby, although Webelos should NOT plan to stay the night. Registration is available on line as well as at the January and February Roundtables, and at the Denver Area Council Hamilton Headquarters. Registration fees are non-refundable but transferable. For Boy Scouts, campsite selection will take place at Roundtable in January and February, first come-first served. Bring your on-line registration receipt to roundtable to confirm your campsite selction. A Troop MUST select a campsite BEFORE arriving at the Klondike so that everyone in the unit will know where to go to set up camp. Each unit is to provide a roster of participants, both youth and adult. Additionally, EVERY person attending must have a completed medical form (forms used for previous District/Council events are also acceptable as long as they are not older than two years). The rosters and the medical forms are to be turned in at Klondike Headquarters upon arrival. Each Boy Scout Troop provides at least one adult to assist in running stations.
