Gateway District Horsetooth Fall Camporee

Camporee Wrap Up

It was a great weekend! Those of you who left early on Saturday missed the adventure of getting about 3” inches of snow Saturday night. If you left early I am sure that was in the best interest of your youth in attendance, so good choice - since we too cancelled the campfire on Saturday as well as Sunday flags and church.

If you didn’t have an opportunity to fill out an evaluation form we'd still like your feedback. Please contact John Beattie for the feedback form. We would appreciate your feedback and want your youth comments in particular; This is so we can do a better job next time.

As to the conservation work that was accomplished - excellent Job! Rocks moved so well, nothing for previously assigned units to do , so they helped cut tress. The number of trees that were cut would have taken the park staff over 2 months to accomplish. John has service hours reports for units, please contact him to get your numbers. Are you aware that Nation BSA is interested in your volunteer hours your unit performs? Go this site to provide this information.

Thanks in advance and have a great Scouting year! See you at the Klondike Games on February 8-10, 2019
