Membership Recruitment

Recruitment efforts take place throughout the year. Gateway District Scouting units conduct a coordinated effort to enroll new members to join Scouting in the Spring. The Spring Recruitment effort focuses on recruiting boys that are K through 4th Grades, but is not limited to that. The Boy Scouts recruit 5th-11th grade young men and Venturing recruits 8th grade young men and women between ages 13-20.

These recruiting events are put on by Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops and Venturing Crews throughout the local community. Studies have shown that families/youth prefer to attend meetings at their school, and in their neighborhood. This will help ensure that every youth is invited to join Scouting.

Our main objective is to give multiple joining opportunities to ensure that every youth is invited to join Scouting and to fulfill our promise to new Scouts for a great Scouting program.

Simply said Scouting isn't Scouting...without the outing. With that being said, I wanted to shoot out a reminder that it is not too late to sign up for Summer Camp, and we have programs for every age level of Scouting! Sessions are rapidly filling up so sign up today.
